Varieties of Labels

Custom labels could be printed on either a piece of cloth, metal, paper or polymer or any other material that could be put on a container or an article that would stay for a longer period of time. There are certain labels that could be printed or embossed on the article or container directly rather than pasting on a product.

It is considered necessary that custom labels remain firmly pasted on a container for a longer period of time, rather than peeling off after a product is purchased by a buyer. In general, labels are pasted by adhesives in a variety of ways. It depends on the quality of the adhesive that is used for pasting of the label on a product.

However, there are various techniques adopted for attaching the custom labels on the container or the product. Hot melt adhesives are particularly used for in-mold labeling that could be a part of the blow molding containers. Self-stick labels or Pressure Sensitive Adhesives Labels are used with a slight pressure and contain release liners that safeguard the adhesive and help in assist label handling. Rivets are used on metal plate labels for identification purposes on industrial equipments in a manufacturing plant. On apparel, mattresses, industrial sacks, cloth labels are attached by stitching and sewing them. On some of the material, yarn or twine is tied on the label to prevent it from falling off. Shrink wrap is a method used for normally printed and shrinkable labels that are positioned over packages and later on heated to shrink them. One of the primitive methods is using wet glue for pasting labels over a carton. Undoubtedly, custom labels have proved their worth for purposes of identification of products and their segregation from other products.
